The English department had initially planned its first event for September 14th. The activity was a tongue twister competition in English. The students practiced beforehand in the Language Arts lessons and eagerly competed against each other to see who could read the tongue twister. Unfortunately, the event did not take place due to school suspension and inclement weather. 

The English department held a Karaoke event during each recess on Tuesday, 7thNovember 2023. All of the English teachers helped to supervise and coordinate the event during each of these times. We chose three songs that the students were familiar with. These were ‘Love Story’, ‘Perhaps Love’ and ‘A Whole New World’ from the Disney film Aladdin. Students from S1 to S4 joined in the event. They were extremely enthusiastic and sang along to all of the songs. S3A Li Wai Ka and S3A Wong Chi Ching performed several duets including one of ‘Love Story’. Many students requested songs that they wished to listen to in English. It was a very successful and entertaining event that the students enjoyed immensely.
